Supremacy Affinity builds a teleporter that sends military units back to Earth to conquer the ruins - you've basically converted your populace to cyborgs who can survive on the ruined Earth -, and you win by sending enough back to complete your conquest. Purity Affinity builds a teleporter that brings refugees from Earth, and you win by resettling them on the planet. Civ: BE had a central narrative of leaving a depleted and inhospitable Earth behind, and the three Affinity Victories interact with that idea in a different way. Contact is a three-stage process culminating in the construction of a Wonder that you have to activate and defend until aliens arrive.īut there were three other mutually-exclusive victory conditions as well, which depend on investing deep into the game's three "Affinities". ![]() ![]() In that game, everyone had access to two victory conditions: Domination and Contact. ![]() I think Civilization: Beyond Earth had some pretty good ideas for how to handle victory conditions in a future-oriented game.
